What we provide. Information about asbestos roofs and asbestos removal in South Africa, an estimating tool, and compliant asbestos roof removal and replacement jobs across South Africa, carried out under the Asbestos Abatement Regulations, 2020, with every quote itemised line by line — scope, registration, disposal and clearance. The site and the service are owned by LY CONSULTING, registered with the CIPC (enterprise number K2025781371).
Who you contract with. When you accept a written quote, your agreement is with asbestosroof.co.za. The asbestos work is done by a team registered with the Department of Employment and Labour for that type of work, under a written plan of work.
How a job runs. First an estimate, from the roof tool or your photos. Then a site visit to confirm the material, measure and check access. Then a final written quote. Nothing starts until you have accepted the written quote.
Quotes and prices. The quote the roof tool shows is worked out from the roof area you outline, corrected for the roof’s pitch, at the middle of the Gauteng price band: R150 to R250 per m² to remove, and R500 to R700 per m² for a new steel roof (up to R900 per m² for business roofs). For a property outside Gauteng, transport to the nearest licensed landfill is quoted after the site visit, as its own line on the written quote. Other prices on this site are ranges for budgeting, based on our current rates at the date shown. Measurements come from Google’s aerial model and from your own outline. The site visit confirms the final price, and only the written quote is final.
Payment. The written quote sets out the price, what it includes and the payment stages. You pay only under a written quote you have accepted.
Your part as the asbestos client. The 2020 regulations give the asbestos client, the person the work is done for (usually the owner), duties of their own. You sign the 7-day notification form to the Department, which carries the registered contractor’s registration number; you appoint the approved inspection authority in writing and co-sign the plan of work; and at the end you receive the clearance certificate and the disposal certificate from the landfill. We prepare these papers with you.
Cancellations. You may cancel before the work starts by telling us on WhatsApp or by phone. The written quote sets out what is payable if you cancel after accepting it.
Identification. Nothing on this site, including the roof finder, determines whether a roof contains asbestos. That is confirmed by a competent person and, where required, a laboratory. Do not break, drill, sand, burn or pressure-clean roofing to test it.

No. It is worked out from the roof you outline, at the middle of the Gauteng price band; outside Gauteng, landfill transport is quoted after the site visit. The site visit confirms the final price, and the written quote is the one that counts.
